Deep Tissue vs Relaxation Massage: Which One Should You Choose?
Deep tissue uses firmer pressure, relaxation is gentle and calming. See the differences, our happy hour rates and which one suits you in JLT.
Updated October 6, 2026

Deep tissue and relaxation are the two massages guests ask about most. Both are available at our spa in JLT, Dubai. Here is how they differ, so you can choose with confidence.
Relaxation massage
A Relaxation Treatment is a gentle, calming treatment to help you unwind. The pressure is lighter, and the aim is to help you switch off. It is a good choice if you want to rest, or if you prefer a lighter touch.
Deep tissue massage
A Deep Tissue Treatment uses slower, firmer pressure on tight areas such as the shoulders, back and legs. People often choose it when they feel tense after long hours at a desk, a workout or a long trip. Read more on our deep tissue massage in Dubai page.
The main differences
- Pressure: relaxation is lighter. Deep tissue is firmer.
- Aim: relaxation helps you unwind. Deep tissue focuses on tight areas.
- Feel: relaxation is soothing throughout. Deep tissue can feel intense in tight spots, so tell your therapist if it is too much.
What they cost at happy hour
Our daytime happy hour runs daily from 11 AM to 6 PM, booking only. At the time of writing, a 60 minute Relaxation Treatment is AED 169 and a 60 minute Deep Tissue Treatment is AED 199. A 30 minute Relaxation Treatment is AED 99. Check the treatment menu for current prices.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose relaxation if you want to unwind, sleep better after a calm hour or you prefer light pressure.
- Choose deep tissue if you carry tension in your shoulders, back or legs and like firmer pressure.
- Not sure? Message us on WhatsApp and we will help you choose. You can also tell your therapist at the start how firm you would like the pressure.

Before you book
Tell your therapist about any injuries, allergies or health conditions before the treatment starts. If you have an injury or a medical condition, check with your doctor before booking a deep tissue massage. Advance booking is recommended.
